eco swabs

Cotton swabs in the waste water often manage to pass through the mechanic treatment on a sewage treatment plant and end up blocking up pumps, pipes and other machinery which were never designed to handle this plastic waste. Obviously, the cleaning and maintenance of all these machines requires additional investments which in the end the consumers have to pay for.
When we look at the way cotton swabs are made these days, we see a cotton bud at each end of a plastic stick. While the cotton part quickly dissolves in the water and mixes up with other organic materials, the plastic stick remains as a whole (as seen in the picture of a landfill below).

To change this, cottown swabs should be made out of biodegradable materials that instantly dissolve within waste water.
